What is the Allurion Balloon Weight Loss Program?
The Allurion Balloon is a non-surgical weight loss aid for adults over the age of 18. It is a soft silicone expandable balloon that is placed in your stomach in order to help you to lose weight. It is a safe and effective procedure that makes you feel fuller for longer and encourages you to control meal portions that helps you to manage your hunger.
How does it work?
First, you will swallow a capsule containing the deflated balloon. Attached to this capsule is a thin tube, which your doctor will then use to fill the balloon with liquid once it is in your stomach. X-rays will be taken to see if the balloon is in the right position. Once all is clear, your doctor will gently remove the tube. You will not need any surgery, endoscopy, or anesthesia. With the Allurion Balloon, the priority is your convenience, comfort and safety.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure takes only 15 to 20 minutes.
What are the results?
About 16 weeks later the balloon passes naturally without the need for a removal procedure. You can expect to lose 10-15% of your total body weight.
